Costuming for Anne Boleyn
Recreating Tudor dress for our upcoming publicity launch...
Our resident practical expert James has been as busy as ever over the last week or two, but in something of a new field for him. Upon receiving the request to recreate the costume of one of England's most famous historical figures, many people would have been daunted. But James rather relishes a challenge, and instead simply set about learning how to be a dressmaker, jewellery constructor and historical recreationist within a week!
It is with thanks to this can-do attitude, a large does of practical aptitude, the internet and over 1,200 individually glued beads (and counting!), that we can bring you this exclusive look at part of the process. See the Gallery of the costume-making here.
The costume is to be used for a photo shoot which will launch the publicity for Red Rose Chain's brand new play about the life of Anne Boleyn. Keep a look out on our website, Blog and E-News for more on this project in the coming weeks.
UPDATE: The final bead and pearls count for the Anne Boleyn costume is as follows: 1266 Grey beads, 1014 Gold beads, 230 Pearls. Phew!
