'No Room At The Holiday Inn' delights audience!

Modern nativity plays to a packed house for Christmas celebrations...

There were Christmas celebrations at Gippeswyk Hall this week, as the Red Rose Chain Community Theatre Company performed 'No Room At The Holiday Inn' in front of a packed house on Thursday evening.

'No Room At The Holiday Inn' is a modern take on the traditional Nativity story, devised by the company themselves through weekly drama workshops. Our Community Theatre Company uses drama and filmmaking to help people recovering from drug addiction to turn their lives around.

An audience of over 70 people attended the event, held at Gippeswyk Hall on Thursday 16th December 2010.

The play was directed by Red Rose Chain's artistic director Joanna Carrick, assisted by Michael Linge & Genevieve Clarke. James Meen provided some ingenious sound and lighting effects. Special thanks must also go to our core volunteers Steve, Jacci and Barry who made fantastic contributions working on the production.

The evening raised £246.56 through refreshments and a prize raffle, which will go to support The Iceni Project's battle to secure its future. Red Rose Chain have a long-held association with Iceni, and 'No Room At The Holiday Inn' engaged 20 participants from the project through drama workshops and other preparations for the performance.
