'The Flood' goes down a storm!
The Southwold Electric Picture Palace gets treated to our Community Theatre Company's latest production...
'The Flood' is the latest offering from our prolific Red Rose Chain Community Theatre Company.

A short play about two neighbouring families trapped by rising flood waters, unaware of each other’s presence and of the impending danger they both face. A story of how pride and stubbornness can tear at the very fabric which holds a family together.
The company devised the piece themselves during their weekly workshop sessions, performing improvisations and roleplays to shape the characters and the story. Key moments and crucial details within the narrative were defined, but the intricacies of the piece were kept fluid with room given for the dialogue and action to be improvised on the night.
As well as conceiving and performing the piece, some of the company also worked on designing and constructing the small but perfectly formed set for the production.
The play was performed at the Southwold Electric Picture Palace as part of an arts evening exploring both the heritage and the future of our changing coastline.
