Has Suffolk Got Talent?

We're looking for a talented young actress to join our professional cast this summer...

Red Rose Chain returns to Rendlesham Forest this Summer with Suffolk’s biggest outdoor theatre event. This year we are looking to change the life of one budding Suffolk actress, with the opportunity to work alongside the professional cast on this Summer’s production of THE WINTER’S TALE.

With an estimated audience of over 8000, this year’s THEATRE IN THE FOREST is the perfect place for one aspiring young woman to make her mark on the region. She’ll need to be willing to commit her whole summer to being part of an event that has been described by critics as ‘Shakespeare as it should be done’.

The role on offer is Perdita, who is a princess, but doesn’t even know it! Left to the wild animals in the woods as a baby, she has been raised by kind shepherds who found her all alone. Years later her cold and wicked Father, King Leontes, is still in charge. But will she ever find out how special she really is?

This year marks 10 years of Theatre in the Forest. With an opportunity to become a member of the company, this production will provide a unique opportunity to develop one young actress’ performance skills and professionalism.

‘The experience was fantastic…it was a real learning curve. It was great to
find out what taking part in professional production is really like."

16 year old student, Thomas Mills High School
