THE NIGHTINGALE

The Nightingale is a new play for audiences of young people with disabilities and their families. Created and performed by The Gold Chainers Company.

THE NIGHTINGALE is an extraordinary project working with young learning disabled actors, supported by Arts Council England. Our work pushes the barriers and expectations of what young people with disabilities can achieve. The young people have been centrally involved in every aspect of the process from song writing, creating characters, designing the set and the costumes, making props, recording voice overs and soundscapes, collaborating on choreography, and developing interactive sensory elements as well as designing publicity materials and videos describing the piece.
